Need SIM Cards for Trackers? SIM cards for GPS Trackers and GPS Tracking Devices vary hugely in cost – which is why we want to give you the best information! We’re good like that.
In just a moment we’ll tell you how to get a free SIM perfect for a GPS Tracker.
SIM Cards For Trackers
SIM Cards for Trackers normally need to be normal SIMs – not the micro SIM sometimes used in modern phones. SIM Cards for Trackers also need to obviously be from your own country. Our GPS Trackers are quad-band, meaning they will work anywhere in the world.
SIM Cards for Trackers allow the GPS Tracker to be able to transmit information out via text message or data (GPRS) to an online server, for online tracking. Some, e.g. our GPSX2 Personal GPS Tracker, can also make or accept calls. SOS buttons also automatically send out texts with location data, when pressed.
Our Favourite SIM Card For a Tracker
You can use SIM cards for Trackers from any provider for a GPS Tracker – in the UK examples would be Orange, O2, Vodafone, Tesco-Mobile etc. Our favourite SIM Card for a Tracker is Giff Gaff. They use the o2 network (which has great coverage), and no ongoing contracts, so you can start and stop a month of use whenever you like.
They have “goodybags” which start from £5 per month – giving 300 location texts, and one hour of call time per month. We’ve found these to be perfect SIM cards for Trackers – 300 location texts is more than enough, about 10 per day. If you want to use data for online tracking, then its just an extra 20p per day of use. If you’re going to be using more call time (e.g. using the 2-way calling feature on some of our trackers) or lots of online tracking, then the £10 per month goodybag is a better option.
